2006-2007 Cues

Gothic Cue

Hercek Cue

Gothic themed cue, built for Steve Peisner.  Ebony nose with very ornate ivory spears and side accents.  The spears and small intricate inlays have silver inlays all working together to complement the Gothic theme.  Ivory handle has very complex engravings flowing down towards the highly ornate butt sleeve.  The cue is finished off with an ivory joint and butt cap.  There is more information on the unique cue in the special works section of my web site.

Kandinsky Cue

Hercek Cue

Kandinsky, one of the few cues I’ve actually named.  I built this cue for Jim Clark, a customer who owns an original Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky painting. The inlay process used in this cue is different than anything I’ve done to date.  Unlike most inlay designs that are indexed from one shape to the next, this cue’s inlays were laid out individually.  Each inlay was given a number to correspond to its given hole.  The butt of the cue is all ivory and I engraved Jim’s actual painting into the sleeve.  There is more information on the unique cue in the special works section of my web site.

Fiddle-Back & Ebony

Hercek Cue

Fiddle back nose, ebony points with black, yellow, blue, white veneers.  Diamond-wing inlay in the points with a diamond -wing design below the wrap.   Engraved ivory ovals cutting through small ivory arrows.  Ivory joint and butt cap.  I’m starting to do more and more of inlay cutting through inlay, I really like the results.

Joker's Wild Cue

Hercek Cue

I had a great time building this cue. I tried to have fun throughout the process and I think that it shows in the design. The cue was originally going to be a "gambler" themed piece. However, the customer (Dave Wasserman) wanted to try and incorporate Jokers into the theme. I tried to add a "fun-house" type of style to the cue with some evil Jokers throughout. There is more information about this cue in the Special Works Section.
